SPECIALIST

There is an unlimited range of windows we can manufacture, by that we mean there is no such thing here as a standard window or standard design.

Each window is made to suit your specific design or style of architecture. We can match any existing widow, which is vital when dealing with listed properties.

So if it's a traditional casement, sliding sash, tilt & turn or stormproof, we can make the window you want, rather than the window that is the closest match from a set range.

All windows can be factory glazed, & pre-finished in either stain or paint.

As with our windows, there is no such thing here as a standard door. Everything is individually made to your requirments or design.

If your property is listed we can match any existing moulding or design, to fully comply with any listed building regulations.

Our doors all come pre-hung in their frames with ironmongery factory fitted & the option to have everything pre-finished.

We are able to offer any style of doors, be it front entrance doors, patio doors, french doors or bi-folding doors.

With years of experience in crafting staircases, we know how important first impressions are. A staircase is so much more than a means of getting up and down stairs. Your staircase is often the focal point of your property – it is essential that it is right!  Whilst we manufacture very detailed staircases, we also manufacture simple, straight flight staircases. Up to an attic, or down to a basement, PAP Barford Joinery can help you design and chose your perfect staircase in a variety of designs and styles whilst complying with building regulations.

Along with the usual joinery items we have in the past been known to make other items. these have included;

Wall panelling

Book shelves

Cupboards

Kitchens

Wardrobes

Understairs pull out drawers

Garden gates

Garden planters

We offer a range of timbers to suit each application. For external joinery the usual choices are;

ACCOYA. This is a exceptionally stable timber which has been modified to give extreme durabillity. The company who modify the timber, which is Radiata Pine, will guarantee that even left unprotected Accoya will not rot for 50 years.

IDIGBO. This an African hardwood which is light brown to grey in colour, sometimes mistaken for Oak. it is very stable and durable, making it a good choice for all external joinery.

EUROPEAN OAK. A good durable timber, with an attractive grain pattern making it a common choice for staining.

For internal joinery the timber choices are vast and each should be considered for its suitability for the application in question.

If your property is not restricted by planning in its glazing choice, i.e. listed properties where there are double glazing restrictions, then we will offer 24mm sealed units in our doors & windows. These will be Argon filled & have low emissity soft coating. This will give a center pane 'U' value of 1.2 & meet all current building control regulations.

If your property is listed then we can offer 'Slimlite' style double glazing, subject to listed building consent. This is an ultra thin sealed unit that can be used with thin glazing bars. Althought the 'U' value is not a great as the thicker units, its is considerably better than single glazing.

We can provide a wide range of window & door furniture from leading, high quality  manufactures such as Kirk Patrick, From The Anvil, Croft, Frank Allart, Louis Fraser & many more.

When it comes to security & locks we offer traditional 5 lever mortice locks or multi point espagnolette locking systems.

We can supply all of our joinery items fully finished with a factory applied coatings. These are available in over 1600 different shades. The mixing service means we can match colours from various manufactures such as Farrow & Ball. There is also an option to have the interior & exterior in different colours.

The recommended maintenance is upto 8 years for paint, & upto 6 years for stain, depending on location & exposure.
